We would like to inform you that the Dairy Heat Forecasting Services (DHFS) will not be operating as of this year. Due to the lack of uptake by the dairy farming community (less than 10% of farms nationally use the service), Dairy Australia has decided to discontinue the service offering.
The end-of-season survey, last summer, indicated that more than 60% of you saw the service as essential to your daily operations during the summer months. Furthermore, some of you indicated that you would be happy to subscribe to a similar service directly, for a fee.
As the decision to discontinue the service was made in August, we are unable to provide you with an alternative for this summer season. We are here to help, so if you feel as though you need our help to manage animal heat stress risk through these summer months, please get in touch with us at (07) 3369 3699. Please keep an eye out for further bulletins in the near future with additional information to help you manage summer heat risk.
